Graveler Always Evolves into a Golem on the Other Side of the Trade

1.20.2013

Thursday we went to New Beginnings Maternity Care to set up a doctor's appointment with Medicaid. We left with a ton of magazines and other various pamphlets of information on babies. Our doctor's appointment is at 12 weeks and 1 day, we'll finally get to see our Igglybuff. We decided to nickname s/he after a Pokemon, yes. Igglybuff during the first trimester, Jigglypuff during the second, and Wigglytuff during the third. Why? Because we're nerds like that. We decided that when we transition into the third we're going to fashion a moon stone (What is used to evolve Jigglypuff into a Wigglytuff in the games/anime/manga) and take a picture with Lyndsay's belly and the 'moon stone' and say "What? Jigglypuff is evolving! Congratulations, your Jigglypuff evolved into a Wigglytuff!" in a Pokemon-esque way. We have Pokeanimals too. We have two turtles, Squirtle and Shelly (Shellos); we had three mice that passed away, Pichu, Minun, and Plusle; and Pumpkin's middle name is Houndour; so naturally, we went with a Pokemon name for our child as well. Not when s/he's born though, that would be too weird...

There's also been a lot of family drama going on that I sincerely wish would stop, but alas, the drama is a never-ending cycle. I wish everyone could just get along with each other and stop being so self-centered. All of this has gotten me remembering to always look on the bright side of life.

The Jello is Always More Frozen in the Back of the Refrigerator

1.3.2013

I've slacked off in my blog-posting as of late, so here's one for the new year!

I say goodbye to 2012 like a flea on a dog in a flea bath. 2012 was not a good year in general for me, so I'm more than happy to embrace 2013. I'm taking my coldest memories of 2012 and building a bonfire to rinse my hands of them all. After this past year, I'm glad to have the best wife I could ever ask for by my side to get me through the hardest, most uncertain parts of myself and my life. I couldn't ask for anything more.

Oh, Christmas, that's right. So what did we get each other? Lyndsay got me a Batman long-sleeved shirt, a Batman beanie, and a Batman glass with a cape. This one. I got her a massaging pillow, a water bottle that has a filter much like this one, and Batman: Arkham Asylum for the PS3. Yes, we like Batman a lot. It's simple pleasures like these that remind me to always look on the bright side of life.
